Thank You to Kim Yarborough, Small Business Owner

Ms. Yarborough, (known as Ms. Kim to our students) came to both of my schools this week, Centennial Campus Magnet Middle, and taught our 8th grade Career Decisions class more about It's My Future (Junior Achievement curriculum, first in a 6 week series) At Carroll LT Magnet Middle, Ms. Kim taught students more about Etiquette & Manners to 3 grade levels of students at our first Career Cafe! We practiced proper handshakes, how to introduce someone, and had fun doing it! We appreciate her time and expertise! Here are a few photos from our Career Cafe...

Updates for Centennial Campus and Carroll Magnet Middle Schools!

Thank you for taking out time to visit my Career Blog...

At Centennial Campus Magnet Middle School we have a fantastic volunteer, Kim Yarborough,  coming in from Junior Achievement to teach "It's My Future", to our 8th gr Career Decisions elective, weekly for 6 weeks!  JA Programs for Middle School aligned with our Curriculum Ms. Yarborough also has a new small business teaching Business Etiquette and her website is http://www.civilitynation.com/  She has offered to serve on the Business Alliance at both schools that I serve! She will also be inspiring students who sign up for a Career Cafe at both schools.  Our first Business Alliance Meeting at Centennial will be on Wednesday, November 2nd. Please encourage business owners/contacts in the NC State area to attend and support our school...many ways to volunteer, as a Career Cafe speaker, mentoring students, Career Fair speaker, etc.

At Carroll Magnet Middle School we held our first Business Alliance meeting yesterday morning and Thank You to all who were able to attend! As a result, we have the following on the calendar, and are looking forward to these events.  Ms. Yarborough will speaking at our first Career Cafe next Thursday in our Learning Commons. We have Business Alliance volunteers set up to come in for Career Cafes each month through January and will set up the slots available for the rest of the year at our next BA meeting on Thursday, November 17th from 7:30-8:30 am, in our Learning Commons.
